Thomson, Georgia Emily Joyce Callaway Dunn 1942 — 2024 Emily Joyce Callaway Dunn, of Thomson, Georgia, formerly of Sparta and Clarksville, GA, passed away peacefully on May 29,2024. She was born April 22, 1942, in Greensboro, Georgia to the late Lawrence Felton Callaway and Annette Ogletree Callaway Cason. Emily graduated from Greensboro High School, Class of 1960. After that, she worked at W J Thurmond Grocery Store, where she met the love of her life, Jimmy Dunn. He was the owner/operator of Dunn Sausage Co. of Sparta, Georgia. Emily and Jimmy married on August 15, 1964. She was a wonderful homemaker to her family and helped in any way she could with running the family business. He was the son of Inez and Charlie Powell of Montrose, Georgia. Mr. Powell was a native of Montrose, Georgia, in Laurens County, and attended Montrose Elementary School and Dudley High School. He graduated from Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia in 1969 and from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville in 1971.
