Nutella Flower Bread

Nutella bread was on my mind for quite a long time, ever since one of my viewer requested me for it. As days pass by i actually forgot about it. But ever since hubby got me two huge jars of Nutella i was looking for new recipes to try using those. And the first thing that came to me is the Nutella bread.

About Nutella Flower Bread Recipe

I searched online for ideas and so many beautiful shapes of bread caught on my eye. I decided to try few of those. The first thing what is did is made a batch of my fool proof sweet bread dough and divided it accordingly so i can try three of the famous shaped bread. One of the shape is this one, i also made the most popular nutella designer bread and Nutella braided bread. Will be sharing it separate posts.

How to make Nutella Flower Bread

Make the Dough:

  1. Take yeast, 1 tsp of sugar in a bowl. Add in ¼ cup of warm water and set aside for 5 mins till it foams up.
  2. Take flour, sugar, salt in a bowl and mix well using a fork.
  3. Make a well in the centre, pour the yeast mix in, milk, melted butter and mix using the fork till it clumps to the fork.
  4. Now start kneading the dough for around 5 to 10 mins till it really smooth and supple. When you press the dough using your finger, it should bounce back.
  5. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and set aside for an hour or hour and half till the dough is doubled in size.

Proof the dough

  1. Now take it out and punch back the air. Knead it again.
  2. Now divide 4 equal balls.

Shape the bread

  1. Take a parchment sheet and spread some oil.
  2. Take a ball, flatten it and roll it into a circle. It should be bigger than a dinner plate.
  3. Place a dinner plate over it and press so an impression is formed. Place it over the parchment.
  4. Spread some Nutella over it. Spread it inside the marked circle.
  5. Now roll the remaining 4 dough exactly like this and place each on on top of each other. Mark it with the plate and spread some Nutella over it.
  6. When everything is done, don't spread Nutella on top layer.
  7. Place the plate over it and cut the excess dough off.
  8. Now place a small cup in the centre, cut it in 16 equal portions.
  9. Now take two part and twist it twice on opposite sides. Bring it together and seal so it forms like a petal.
  10. Repeat like this for all. Remove the cup.

Baking Nutella flower bread

  1. Now put the parchment paper along with bread in a tray.. Cover and set aside for 30 more mins.
  2. When the bread is rising,Preheat oven to 180 degree C.
  3. Now crack open an egg in a bowl, add few spoons of water to it and whisk well using a fork. Brush this egg wash over the bread.
  4. Now bake it in a preheated oven for 25 to 30 mins.
  5. Remove it and let it cool.
  6. Serve warm.
